The food ministry has extended the deadline for linking ration card to Aadhaar till September 30. The central government has taken this decision at a time when there were reports that ration cards not related to Aadhaar would be canceled. Please tell that there are still millions of ration card holders who have not been linked to Aadhaar.

The official statement said that all the state governments and union territories have been given the responsibility of linking the ration card with the Aadhaar number, based on the notification of the Department of Food and Public Distribution, on 7 February 2017.

This notification has been revised from time to time. Now the deadline for this work has been extended to 30 September 2020. This means that you can get the ration card and Aadhaar linked by September 30.

According to the statement, no right beneficiary will be denied the ration of his share until the Ministry issues clear instructions to all the states and union territories. The ministry said that the ration card of someone will not be canceled due to lack of Aadhaar number.

Explain that the lockdown is applicable due to corona in the country. The third phase of the lockdown, which came into effect from 25 March, is to end on 17 May. In this crisis, people do not have problem of food, so the central government had announced a total of 15 kg free ration for three months.

This assistance is in addition to the quota of five kg of cheap ration per person per month under the National Food Security Act (NFSA). According to the central government, there are more than 80 crore beneficiaries in the country, who come under its purview.
